So I decided about at 8:00
PM to make the hour and a half trip to Charlotte from Greenville, SC to see this show. I knew It would be an great time and totally worth the trip, but as I stepped in through the doors under the marquee reading: "Perpetual Groove", I heard the band in the middle of the intro of It Starts Where It Ends. What a start, and already worth the trip. Little did I know, it would only get better (and much better, at that)From the first word, Brock sounded great. His playing, along with the rest of the band, was some of the best I've heard in person. The sounds quality of this recording (I had to find one thing to critique and certainly isn't bad enough to bring the show down from 5 stars) isn't the greatest but still 100% worth a download. The band really seemed to be having a great time. I know that could probably be said for most nights, but their was a special energy in the air with this being the closing show before an especially long run for the band, and of course, the holidays. If the first set, alone, wasn't good enough the second set went above and beyond. The Playground sandwich was perfect in every way. Glock Jam gives Brock a chance to talk and give everyone a breather and quite a few laughs before transitioning into Speed Queen and back to finish up Playground. Everyone was able to put their last bit of energy and dancing into a final 15 minute funky Get Down Tonight. MWATA and a Speed Queen reprise completed the show as the encore. A lot of old, a lot of new, and everything in between. There's a little something for everyone in this show. Plus, with the download you get a little picture that loads in iTunes for your album cover! Enjoy!
